Hello,
I bought the Netgear N300 WNA3100M Wi-Fi adapter to use with my new PC that I purchased in December 2012. My PC doesn’t have a built-in Wi-Fi card and I am running Windows 8.
Here’s what’s happening.
I installed the software on the PC and followed the on-screen instructions.
The software asks me to insert the Wi-Fi adapter into a USB port.
I plug my adapter into a USB port and after a few minutes, a message appears saying that the adapter cannot be found.
However, the adapter is properly inserted into the USB port, etc...
So nothing works, I even downloaded the software compatible with Windows 8 from the website but it still doesn’t work with the Wi-Fi adapter.
Additionally, I checked Windows Update and discovered an update for the WLAN - NETGEAR WNA3100M N300 Wireless Mini USB Adapter.
So I downloaded the update, and a message appeared on the screen.
The message indicates detected errors CODE ERROR 800705AA.
I even restarted my PC and went back to Windows Update to download the WLAN - NETGEAR WNA3100M N300 Wireless Mini USB Adapter again and it still doesn’t work.
So I am in total panic.
Therefore, my question is the following.
If anyone has had the same problem as me, and has managed to get this Netgear N300 working under Windows 8, could you please provide me with a solution to resolve this issue???? I need it to connect all my devices to Wi-Fi via my PC.
Thank you in advance, and while waiting for a quick response, I wish you all a good Sunday.
See you soon Cédric.
Configuration: Windows 8 / Firefox 19.0
