Hello,

I am unable to watch my movies that I have on my external hard drive with my Toshiba TV.
My hard drive is a WD My Passport.
When I go to multimedia, I cannot make any selections.
Nothing works. However, I formatted my hard drive to FAT32, as it was not in that format at purchase.
I am not a pro in this matter, but I would really like some help... we talk about installing codecs on our TV because it may not be compatible...
Thank you for your responses!

Good evening, it should be noted that the support for USB devices by a TV is limited; a TV will never support an external hard drive, as stated in the technical specifications of the TV. At most, a USB stick of 16 or even 32GB will work, but not a hard drive.

Only multimedia hard drives (formatted in NTFS) are supported by TVs.

Moreover, if I have seen correctly, this TV model is not intended for Europe, so there is no way to access its specifications, only on Toshiba.us.

Best regards and have a good evening.

No problems, only...solutions!!! :-)
IF YOU BELIEVE YOUR ISSUE IS RESOLVED, PLEASE MARK IT AS SUCH, THANK YOU.

On the other hand, I also have a 640GB Western Digital external hard drive, formatted in FAT32, and when I plug it directly into the USB port of my Sony KDL-40BX400 TV, the hard drive is not detected. So to be able to watch the movies on it, I have to connect it to one of the 3 USB ports of my "ScreenPlay Director HD Media Player Iomega 1To," and it works without any issues.
