Hello,
Some, out of concern for saving energy, unplug their Freebox every day during their absence (for example, at night).
Is it risky? Opinions vary according to the forums.
I would like to be able to unplug it at night.
Thank you

Hello,

You risk damaging the electronic components that do not tolerate sudden restarts. The boxes are often equipped with hard drives, which are components that encounter failures after a certain number of startups! This value is provided by the hard drive manufacturers (number of operating hours and the average number of startups before facing failures).

In the same way, a box that runs 24/7 will encounter issues related to the number of operating hours compared to a modem that will be turned off from time to time.

It is therefore up to you to choose whether you want to regularly turn off your box or if you prefer to turn it off only during long absences (which is recommended to avoid thunderstorms), vacations, etc.

Sincerely

Thank you for this precise and clear comment.
I wanted to simply turn off my Freebox in the evening and turn it back on in the morning, about 12 hours later!
Some people do it and tell me that it refreshes the updates...
Of course, I won't turn it off every time, but only after a period of 8 to 12 hours.
I appreciate you taking the time to read my post and advise me.
Best regards
