Hello,
Not knowing whether it is purely a driver or printer issue, I am also posting my question on this forum:
My printer refusing to work on Wifi, I foolishly deleted all related elements via Ccleaner hoping that a new installation from scratch would allow me to regain all functions.
I then download the driver file from the HP website and there, after checking all possible agreements on the first installation pages, nothing, the installation application stops for no reason even if I disable Avast.
Any ideas?
(Operating system XP pack 2)

Thank you

Configuration: Windows XP / Chrome 24.0.1312.56

    Hello,

    Start by installing the --> SP3

    Thank you for your response.
    I've tried many times to switch to SP3, but each time it crashes at the last moment, so I've come to terms with it.
    Do you think the problem could come from there, because before I deleted all the HP folders, apart from the WiFi, it was working quite well?

    Where does this version of Windows come from?
    An unofficial version?

    No, it's the version that came with my laptop. I never understood why it refused the pack3 update; I must have made a wrong move that damaged the system.

    So far, I have tried reinstalling from a driver downloaded from the HP website, I will try to reinstall it from the CD F4500 that came with the machine.

    Go to Start
    Run
    Type: cmd and OK
    Type: sfc /scannow and enter

    A system file check will be performed.
    You may be asked to insert the Windows CD.

    Thank you, kaneagle, hallelujah, it's official and it's great, the system configuration is affirmative; I'm on pack3! Finally great, surely, but I don't really know what this will change on my computer.
    No matter, if I can reinstall my printer, that will be super.
    Unfortunately, since the HP is at my work, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to celebrate.
    Thanks again.

    I couldn't help but test it right away.
    It seems disappointing because, of course, no printer is connected, but the chronology of the problem remains, namely;
    I click on DJ_AIO_06_F4500_USW_Full_win_fra 140_175.exe
    the system decompresses and creates under program files of HP
    I confirm my agreement to the different software
    and then
    nothing, back to the desktop and nada.

    last elements to complete the problem description.
    the HP folder in program files includes:
    a folder {0AFFEA39-60AF-4C4F-BB47-4A1F7CB12129}
    then 2 subfolders:
    GUP containing autorun.inf at 0 k; dummy.dat at 1 k; hypomdl46.dat at 1 k
    WUP containing autorun.inf at 2 k; dummy.dat at 1 k; fix1.dat at 1 k

    and that's it!
    no setup or anything else

    Go to add and remove
    Uninstall everything related to the printer.
    Run CCleaner for a good cleanup.
    Set the printer up
    Disconnect the printer from the PC
    Launch the setup for this driver --> Deskjet F4580
    Connect the printer to the PC as soon as prompted.

    I'm a bit disgusted. The problem doesn't change, namely that during the driver execution, I can't get past the "system check" phase and particularly the installation of updates, and then bam, desktop, end of the show.
    It's as if there's some hidden memory of the previous installation somewhere, even though Ccleaner has no more HP files.
    Help :(

    Repair Windows XP.

    Look at this tutorial --> Repair Windows XP

    Don't forget to choose --> R (repair)

    Hello there,
    I finally managed to reinstall my printer last night!
    The method is probably not academic since, in fact, with the printer plugged in, I updated the driver using the installation CD from the "device manager" panel.
    It works, not via Wi-Fi like before, but this USB cable isn't so bad after all!
    Thank you very much for your constant help.
