Hello,

Here you go, I retrieved an old PC with Windows XP SP3 but I need to connect it to the internet via a wifi sharing connection with an Android device over USB.

The problem is that as soon as I launch the app (Wired Tether, started from a rooted Samsung Galaxy Wifi 4.0 running Gingerbread 3.3.6, connected to the PC via USB), it causes a blue screen (since I disabled automatic reboot). I did download the NDIS driver pack from XDA but I’m not sure Windows has recognized it...

Additionally, a big boot issue: the PC stays stuck for about 5 minutes on an American Megatrends screen with the following lines:

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BzG-jYBsBbyDY25vM0Jod1FuXzQ/edit

Unable to enter the BIOS (keyboard/mouse not starting)

Then when the PC reaches the desktop, I get: "The system has recovered from a serious error" (impossible to send the report, because there isn’t an internal one)

I looked at the path of the affected files: it seems to be in the temporary files, which I deleted.

What can I do to first get a faster startup, and then, if possible, share my wifi connection via USB? (I can’t share the wifi connection with my phone because my operator blocks it)

I’m waiting for your responses.

Configuration: Windows XP SP3 / Gingerbread 3.3.6

Well I’ve already fixed my hotspot issue! I copied and pasted the NDIS drivers and tetherxp.inf (downloaded afterwards, thinking the others didn’t work) into the C:/Windows/system32/drivers folder, and it worked! I was able to get internet via Wi-Fi through my Samsung! (replacing the existing drivers like usb8023.sys with the ones downloaded from XDA)

So I might create a new thread about my BIOS boot-block issue
