Keep the sound in the background

Question

Hello,
I’ve done some research online to solve my problem, but no one seems to have a working solution! I would like to keep the sound from Deezer, for example, when I switch to another application or even the desktop; because right now it cuts off and that's really not convenient. I like having my music playing while I work, so it really bothers me!
Apparently, there’s snap, but my screen resolution doesn’t allow me to do that.
If anyone has a trick, I’d be interested!

Thank you for thinking I'm an idiot :)
I'm using Windows 8 with Google Chrome in application mode, so when I switch to Word, the music from Deezer stops. I would like it to continue while I'm doing something else ;)
Then you mention "Deezer on the website"; do you imply that there is software?

Do you listen to Deezer from the website? With a browser?

When you go back to the desktop, do you click on the cross that closes the browser and stops the music? You just need to click on the "minimize" button!

Well, the music doesn't stop when the browser is no longer the active application...

Except that on Windows 8, if the music is started from the tile interface, then we go back to the desktop to launch an application, it's possible that the sound cuts out. Is that your problem?

And, uh, there used to be a program to play on Deezer; I don't know if it still works, there might be an official application?

The application is still active; it is still located in the left sidebar.
The same thing happens with a YouTube video; if we minimize the window, the video pauses as long as we are not on the YouTube page...
I checked the Windows Store, and no, there is no application for PC, only for mobile.

I had the same problem and I found the solution:

1. Click on the Google Chrome menu (at the top right, the logo with 3 lines)
2. Select "Relaunch Chrome in Windows 8 mode."

Greetings!!

Well, this is how I keep the music playing on Deezer with Chrome or others while switching to the desktop. You just need to take your web page with the mouse, at the top, in the middle of the screen (you’ll see a hand appear..), then slide your page to the right. The page stays open but as a shortcut on the right, and you can do whatever you want with the music still playing! :)
It also works with programs that are not for Windows 8.
I did my best to express myself as clearly as possible.. ^^

I found it after all!

I didn't launch Chrome in Windows 8 mode as mentioned above, but in desktop mode. Since then, the sound stays nicely in the background, whether we're on the "tiles" menu or the desktop.

I found it!
In desktop mode, go to Control Panel, then in the Sound category, choose your audio device and display its properties, then go to the last tab and uncheck the box: "Give priority to applications in exclusive mode" and then confirm and close the open windows. It worked for me, but it happened overnight after connecting the music player to the desktop, the feature must have been activated.

Otherwise, as for Deezer, it is part of the applications in the Windows Store. So, if you download the application for free from the store, you can run it in the background without it stopping with each application change on Windows 8. It's not necessarily the best solution, but it works for me. The new operating systems want us to use applications exclusively now.

It's a real problem. Even though it does work when using music with Chrome (Deezer), it's absolutely not normal: for example, if I'm on the TV, I go to the home screen and open another app: the sound cuts out; if I'm on the radio, the sound continues!
None of this is coherent.
Moreover, Chrome has very poor resolution for me in desktop mode, so all of this is anti-ergonomic!
So I'm looking for a real solution...

Hi everyone.

I think I just found the trick, so I hope it will work for you too:

you need to start the application you use to listen to music or watch videos first, or close all the windows by clicking at the top and dragging them down.
