Some manufacturers, Dell in particular, offer dual-channel memories on their high-performance configurations. They argue that it would be useful for Windows Vista.
Can someone explain to me the principle and the benefit of these memories?
Thank you.

The bicanal is actually called “dual channel,” this feature, supported by all modern chipsets, allows, when two RAM sticks that are strictly identical are installed, to significantly increase the bandwidth performance of DDR and DDR2 (this feature exists only for these memories).
Dell is not wrong, dual-channel memory is preferable, not only for Vista.
