Screen flickering

Hello,

I am having a problem with my computer screen.
The image gets blurry after 15 to 30 minutes of use.
It starts with small flickers and then worsens, until I can no longer distinguish anything on it.
In extreme cases, if I leave it on, it turns completely white.
This phenomenon started 10 months ago, in April - May 2006, with a period of calm from September to December.
For the past 3 months, I can only use it for 30 minutes each day.
After that, I have to turn off my PC and wait an hour or two before I can use it again.
I lent my screen to a friend for a weekend, and it worked perfectly at his place.
I cleaned the inside of my CPU and dusted off the graphics card, but it didn't improve the situation.
My screen is a 17-inch flat LCD monitor from Sonic.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem, the screen gets fuzzy, turns white, and if I don't "tap" on the laptop, it stays in that state. A home repair technician looked at it and did some tests, but according to him, it doesn't come from the graphics card, the driver, or the screen resolution, but from the wires that go through the hinges. He told me it was not repairable, you don't disassemble laptops. However, I made an appointment with another company, we'll see what they say...

I have the same problem as you! In fact, when I adjust the tilt of the screen, the image goes back to normal... for a while! So it's definitely related to the hinges!

What CRAP!!!!! I'm still very troubled by this issue, especially when I'm watching a movie!

Obviously, it's a video problem!

Graphics card or video cable, I lean towards the graphics card overheating and "freezing."

It is possible that your refresh rate setting is too high. Try lowering it to the minimum, around 60Hz.

Hello,

I have a similar problem. After several minutes or sometimes several hours, the screen starts to glitch. Sometimes when I move the mouse or launch a program, the screen returns to normal, but after a short time, it starts again, and each time the screen becomes increasingly unreadable. The screen is saturated with white lines, and sometimes I have 4 computer windows showing up at the same time. This happens when the PC gets hot. I have already changed the graphics card to a Sapphire X1950 GT, but the problem persists. I have a 400W power supply and I'm wondering if I need to change it. Thank you for your responses.
