Set up Epson XP 202 printer on WIFI Solved

Question

Hello,

I bought an Epson XP 202 printer. I managed to set it up without any problem via USB and I can print without issues. However, I want to connect it via Wi-Fi with another computer and it's impossible.
When I press the Wi-Fi button, it flashes green/orange for a minute then stays solid orange. When I insert the CD into the laptop, the computer searches for the printer but cannot find it.
Can you help me and tell me what to do?

Bonjour, j'ai acheté une imprimante XP-202. Mais le problème est que l'imprimante n'est pas détectable sur l'ordinateur et elle clignote uniquement en vert/orange. Pouvez-vous me dire comment faire pour détecter le Wi-Fi de mon imprimante, s'il vous plaît ?

My laptop is a Compaq, and I am on Windows 7. In fact, when I install the printer using the CD provided with the printer, there is no problem until it searches for the printer over WIFI. It does not detect it.
Furthermore, when I press the WIFI button on the printer, it flashes orange while it should be lit solid green.
If you have the solution, it would be helpful!

Good evening,

I first set up the printer on my desktop computer with a wired connection. Everything works perfectly.
Since the printer has Wi-Fi, I would like to use it from my laptop as well to avoid transferring files back to my desktop (that's why I chose this printer). My laptop has Wi-Fi and it's working. It's a Compaq model CQ71-406SF, 32 or 64, I don't know.
When I install the printer driver, everything goes well until it tries to find the printer via Wi-Fi, and that's where it doesn't find it. This is probably because when I press the Wi-Fi button on the printer, it blinks green/orange instead of showing a steady green light. But I can't find out how to fix this. In the very thin manual, it states "an error occurred while connecting to Wi-Fi. Press Wi-Fi to correct the error," but that doesn't change anything.

Yes, the Wi-Fi is indeed activated on the laptop, but I've found the solution. I feel a bit silly, but I needed to share the printer on the desktop computer that is connected via USB to the printer.

Hello,
I have a PC running Vista, an iPad 3 16GB, and an Epson XP 202 printer.

Here's how I managed to connect the three:

I installed the printer via USB on the laptop. (Very long)
I shared the printer (right-click on the printer name in the Control Panel)
I resumed the installation on the PC by choosing the "WiFi connection" option (make sure to remove the USB cable from the PC)
I pressed the WiFi button on the printer and the data exchange took place.
The orange light was steady during the exchange between the printer and the PC.
I pressed the association button 1 on my Inventel Livebox and IT WORKED!!!!
The green light on the printer is green and steady.

I turned on my iPad, downloaded the free "Epson iPrint" app.

From this app, I selected a photo from my photo stream and clicked on the "Settings" tab at the top right. The printer was detected, I confirmed it, and I printed.
The iPad can use the printer alone, when the PC is off, without any additional hardware.
