Video converter for Samsung TV

Thank you for your response gej62, but my problem is really with the video... I had already checked the file info with media info... That's what allowed me to say that the video format (AVC) is not compatible with my Samsung TV. The audio format is in AC3, so it's compatible with my TV. I will try xmedia recode for the video files that don't work because of the audio codec, but I'm still looking for a software capable of converting an MKV with AVC codec to MKV with MPEG4 codec.

take a look at the audio codec (dts for example), the series 5 can read mkv and mp4 in MPEG-4AVC/h264.
mkv, mp4, etc. are containers (envelopes). They "contain" a
video stream, an audio stream, or more for the mkv which accepts more than one audio stream and even subtitles, making it the ultimate container for HD.

but mkv is not standard, in fact, it often contains audio streams
like mp3, aac, ac3, dts, opus (not tested), and so on. The problem is that Samsung, Philips, etc. may have recognition issues with certain streams.

so look into the audio side (audio track in dts for example)
Media Info will help you know the structure of your mkv
also refer to the manual.
it's possible to change the container or to re-encode the audio.
xmedia recode does it very well and without loss.

nothing...
your audio is in ac-3 6 channels, maybe that's what's causing the problem.
for the video, I don't see any difference with an mkv from my library.
if you have mkv merge, process your mkv by unchecking the audio; you'll only have the
video, then you'll know for sure that the problem lies with your video.
if the problem comes from the audio, you'll need to re-encode the audio to ac3 2.1 using xmedia recode.
