Update Media Play on Samsung TV Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,

I bought a Samsung LED TV series 6000. I thought I could watch videos on my TV by connecting a USB stick or an external hard drive. Indeed, there is a software (which can be updated) called MEDIA PLAY. But with it, I can only play the images and music on my stick.

Surely there must be a version of this software that can play videos (VLC, Windows Media Player, ...)

Do you know where I can find that?

...there is a fairly simple solution, but it voids the warranty: access the hidden menu and configure from b600 to b7000 just like that, the software is installed but active on the 6000 series... you still spend 200 to 250 euros and buy a 7000 series, such seems to be Samsung's philosophy.

yeah yeah yeah  tv off: on the remote press info then menu then mute and finally power  We arrive at a menu, just select option and change the model to B7000  ***clean***

I don't understand what you are trying to do...? The only difference is the Wi-Fi system that is included on the B7000. Otherwise, to update, go to www.samsung.com.

Hello,
I have a solution for you. TV off:
Press -> INFO
Press -> Menu
Press -> Mute
Turn the TV back on, then select the B7000 model in the options, turn it off and then back on, and a new menu will give access to movie playback

Bizarre, on my B6000 bought in a big Belgian store, the media player is active! However, I know people who bought it in France online and there... no media player?
However, I'm looking for a way to update the CODECs because the media player doesn't recognize all formats (MKV and certain DivX)?
So, question: how to update the media player or replace it with VLC????

What should I do to be able to watch my TV now?  Return it to the store or buy another one, you shouldn't do the manipulation described earlier, it crashes the TVs.

It doesn't work for me either, the procedure, Samsung LED TV 55B6000, the media play read my hard drive with the movie (mkv file) for 1-2 minutes and then nothing, it says "no file selected". Need help please. mg

Hi,
Actually, to read divx + mp3 + mpeg4 it's fine via 1 HDD or 1 USB stick
but for MKV you need to connect your stick or HDD to another PC on which you install Samsung PC Share and it works perfectly

Hello
to read music, photos, and movies from your computer's hard drive.
you need to download a multimedia server for Samsung TVs (DLNA server)
go to the Samsung website
www.samsung.com/fr
then download "Samsung PC Share Manager" (DLNA server)
install the software
you must enter the exact path for the TV
then press the source button on the remote (at the top next to the red button)
look for DLNA and click it to access your hard drive

Good evening to you, I tried to access the submenu on my Samsung TV EU40C5100QW using the info/menu/mute/power buttons, but when I turned it back on, the image is almost gone, it's worse than black and white!!
When I was in the menu, I only changed the type in options, but I didn't change anything else.
