USB mouse not detected on MAC

Hello,

I recently bought a MacBook Pro. I would like to use the USB mouse from my old computer, but it is not recognized on the Mac. Is it incompatible or is it a bug?

    This is a 13'' MBP 2012 with OS X 10.8.2. For the mouse, it's a BaseXX (no idea of the model). All I can tell you is that it's a very simple USB optical mouse.

      USB wired mouse. I used it before on Windows 7.

      So, it might be a model incompatible with your version of Mac OS, which is Mountain Lion.
      Was this mouse supplied with a laptop case?
      Check under the mouse for a reference.
