Hello everyone.
First piece of advice for all luxury and high-end brands: there are never any promotions!!! Always at full price, and the same price regardless of size.
Second piece of advice, avoid online sites if you want to be sure. Because even if the photos presented are of real items... Nothing prevents the seller from sending you a counterfeit.
In the case of a sale between individuals, such as second-hand. Ask to meet, request invoices and examine the item before paying.
Regarding the topic that interests us, namely Canada Goose. First of all, the price, nothing below €800 for a jacket, and €1000 for a parka. Below that, it's a scam.
The patch is on the left. There are counterfeits with the patch on the left, but the brand NEVER places the patch on the right. If there is fur, it is NEVER synthetic, it is normally coyote fur and has the feel of a German shepherd's tail. There is a metal loop behind the hood, which bears the brand name. Among the care labels and only in that spot, there is a label with a hologram featuring the brand logo. The patch on the left sleeve has 10 maple leaves; on the continent (Canada), there are 4 lakes, one of which, the longest, is imperceptibly split in two. Moreover, these coats are exclusively made in Canada. Inside, the label indicating size, manufacturing, etc., is on a diamond-shaped piece of the same fabric as the outside of the parka. Ultimate test, the filling is down, these garments are designed to keep warm at temperatures below -10, even -40° for some. So, as soon as it’s 0°, go out in a t-shirt under your coat, walk for 5 minutes, and if you’re still cold... It’s 100% guaranteed counterfeit!!
Last piece of advice, if you have the slightest doubt, do not buy.
The big stores like Printemps, Galeries Lafayette, etc., are guaranteed sales points.
I am the happy owner of an authentic parka. If I have one real piece of advice to give you, it’s that it’s a significant and lasting investment, so make the effort to GO to a certified store, try things on, comfort is important, choose your model well, don’t hesitate to visit several stores and make several trips to the shop. Don’t get caught up in a fashion trend. If you don’t feel comfortable in your coat, you’ll regret it for a high price! Remember that in France, we rarely have less than -10° in the city!!
Have a warm day in your parkas!
I'm reaching out to bring up the post because I have a little question regarding the hologram present on the authentic Canada Goose jackets.
I own a genuinely authentic one, and the hologram is stitched right next to the care instruction tags (long white tag) and the small blue tag. The number on the hologram tag starts with CL +7 digits.
I’m being offered a second-hand one, everything seems to be in order except that the hologram is not stitched on the same seam as the other two tags, and it starts with CG +7 digits.
What do you think? Am I becoming paranoid about counterfeits or is it just a question of model or year of manufacture?
I've read a lot and compared the real ones to the fake ones, and this is the only detail that's bothering me about the purchase. Does anyone have one with the same particularity?
Thank you very much!
If you see a discounted item, it is a fake (much less warm and stuffed with who knows what animal hair). Spending 200 EUROS on a fake is not worth it, better to pay more and get the real product.
Check the logo. Counterfeiters have difficulty reproducing it perfectly. The seams are not perfectly straight.
Starting this year, the brand has added a hologram inside its coats. If it’s not there, that doesn’t mean it’s a fake, as there are still coats on the market from before this addition. But one must be vigilant.
Fake Canada Goose coats are made in China.
Some were stuffed with "straw" feathers, which are feather waste, bacteria, and mold included. With a counterfeiter, the fur on the collar was not coyote, but raccoon or even German shepherd!
