VLC Video Playback Order

Hello, when I launch multiple videos at once with VLC, the videos are not played in order. Let's say, in a folder, I open videos "1", "2", "3", and "4", VLC will launch these videos in the order "3", "1", "4", "2", or even in another order. I have checked that I haven't activated the "random" button, yet it still happens.
I know I can go to the playlist to arrange them myself, but sometimes the videos are in such a mess that it takes me longer to organize them than to watch them. I would like to know how to play them in order automatically.
