Hello everyone, I apologize in advance for this topic that has already been posted, but it has remained without much response and especially without an update for some time...
I would like to know how Facebook ranks our friends.
I have been friends with a girl for two or three years, and I am very interested in her. At one point, I thought she might be interested in me too, but being as shy as I am, I missed my chance...
Anyway, for several months now, this girl has been at the top of my friends list every day. I often like her photos, a few private messages but rarely, and I often visit her profile as well.
For about two months, I have not liked anything anymore, I have not visited her page, but she was still in first place even though the rest of the list was changing regularly.
An ex-girlfriend got back in touch with me about two weeks ago, and as we talked, my ex rose to second position even though she is not on my friends list... That's already strange...
My ex eventually rose to first position, and I have never been on her Facebook profile.
I asked her if she visits my page regularly or not, and she replied that yes...
So I conclude that it’s the person who visits our page the most who ends up in first position...
The girl I’m in love with was therefore in second position.
The night passed, and the next morning the order remained unchanged, well that's that.
The day went by, and in the evening the order had changed; the girl I’m in love with is in first position. I had looked at her page the day before and thought it was because of me. I started talking to my ex again, and bam, she told me she looked at my page and she is now in first position. After a fight, I stopped contacting her three days ago, and she remains in second position while the girl I’m interested in is in first.
Naturally, I tend to overthink sentiments, and this time I would like not to get too many ideas, who knows, maybe for nothing...
I would like to hear your thoughts and experiences on this subject.
Thank you in advance.

I've already questioned myself about this, and in doubt, don't hold it against me, just stick to the facts. But it's true that Facebook is probably developing and testing a bunch of algorithms serving this kind of interest. I will check myself, but your testimony has enlightened me to the fact that I was not alone in noticing this kind of subtlety.
I did a test today, I didn't have any exchanges on Facebook, my ex was in second position up until then everything was fine. In the afternoon I posted a photo trying to provoke a discussion maybe with the girl I like... Following the post my ex moved up to first position. I'm sure she went to check my page...
As a result, I think this first position depends a lot on visits that remain invisible to us but not to Facebook.
