Hello,
My motherboard recently failed, so I had to replace it.
As I was warned, Windows 7 does not start. The system repair tool doesn't work either.
I would like to know how to get my PC working again without losing my data on the hard drive that is not backed up elsewhere, and if possible, without having to reinstall Windows since I'm not sure about the reliability of my backup DVDs.
The computer was an Acer Aspire M1641.
The motherboard is now a Gigabyte GA-G41M-Combo.
The computer was running Vista upon purchase, but I was able to receive a free upgrade to Windows 7.
I have the installation CD for the motherboard, the upgrade CDs, as well as the backup DVDs, but I'm not 100% sure I did the backup correctly.
Thank you.

You will have to reinstall the OS. One possible solution is to remove your hard drive and put it in an external enclosure that you can connect to another PC in order to recover your data onto an external storage device (such as a USB stick).
