Recovering data after motherboard replacement (Mac Book Pro 15")

The motherboard is the major component of the Mac; it's the brain, but that's all there is to it. The original hard drive or SSD represents the main storage device; it's the component that holds the entire system and the user's data. When a technician changes the motherboard, there is no reason to delete or replace the main storage device; they disconnect it and then reconnect it to the new board. (There can sometimes be multiple storage units.) In short, a motherboard change should be a completely transparent operation. I see no reason to replace the main storage unit that contains the system. That would require it to be reinstalled. It makes no sense, unless it leads to unjustified additional costs. (And in such a case, the old storage unit should be returned to the owner, who would thereby recover their data.) If the technician does the job they are paid for, they replace the original motherboard with a strictly identical one, and that's that. This is not about a "homemade" PC where any motherboard can be installed. There’s no issue of reinstalling drivers.
If I pay a mechanic to replace my gearbox, they won't also replace the engine for the same price. In short, the Mac should boot up and run without any noticeable changes.

1. How do I check if there are any drivers to install?

2. How do I install/reinstall the OS and its apps (on a Mac which, if I understand correctly, will be empty, i.e., without a browser, etc.)?

In my opinion, changing the motherboard (check if there are any drivers to install as well) requires an installation or reinstallation of the OS (macOS Catalina 10.15.6) and its applications.
