Hello,
I have an HP Deskjet F4180 printer that also functions as a scanner. Printing and photocopying work perfectly fine. However, the scanner doesn't: it initially worked too, but I haven't used it in a long time and now I need it. When I press the button to scan, nothing happens; only the "power" button on the printer is flashing. I have tried reinstalling the software using the supplied CD and then the downloads available on the HP website (several times), but I get errors, then it says they have been resolved, yet it still doesn't work! Additionally, my computer won't uninstall the software. If you know how to help, please do!
(ps: I have Windows Vista)

Configuration: Windows Vista / Chrome 23.0.1271.64

    Good evening clem1410,
The full downloadable software/driver is available at this link, HERE.
Beforehand, it is essential to eliminate all traces of previous drivers and all files related to this printer.
    Clean the registry.
Unplug the printer cables, restart the computer.
Then proceed with the installation and only connect the printer when the procedure specifies it.
    See you later
