checkbox form word Solved

Question

Hello,

how to ensure that a Word document containing checkboxes opens in checkbox mode instead of edit mode? It's for a survey, and I want to prevent people from having to disable editing before filling out the form.

Hi!
If you created a Word document with checkboxes (using the Forms toolbar), you'll need to protect it now.
Go to Tools / Protect Document - in step 2 “Restrict Editing,” it offers you to allow certain modifications. Choose “Filling in Forms.” In step 3, activate the protection by setting a password. Save and close it.
When you send it, they should logically only have the option to check the provided boxes.

Hello,
I have the same problem as C./ but unfortunately, I can't apply the solution suggested by Ezri.
I am using Word 2000. I created a form template (.dot) and protected the document with a password.
I disabled the protection to modify the document. But as soon as I insert a form field (drop-down list or checkbox), the form protection function automatically grays out and is therefore no longer accessible.
When I double-click on a field, a Visual Basic window opens, and I know nothing about VBA!

Hello,  in your "form" toolbar, you have an icon with a padlock called "form protection", just click on it to enable the checkboxes.  See you!

Hello, when you check in Restrict Formatting / 2. Restrict Editing / Allow only this type /

Choose: Filling in forms and select ''no'' for the question:

''do you want to remove ignored exceptions''?

Then in the 3. Protecting the document, the Turn on Protection button will be enabled and you're all set.

Hello,
I managed to protect my checkboxes and it works. However, I would also like the people filling out the form to be able to write text in certain areas. (I can do that too).
But unfortunately, not both at the same time. In fact, they can either check the boxes or make comments, but not both at once because in point 2 "modification restrictions," it’s either comments or the form, but not both.
Please let me know if there is a way to have both.

I can't combine the checkboxes (form filling) and the text parts (comments)!
The Creation mode box is not checked though.
If you can find a solution for me, it would really help!
