Hello,
I'm trying to connect a Verbatim external drive to a USB port on my computer.
Although this drive was previously operational on a C+ decoder, my PC doesn't want to recognize it when I'm on W7; I go to "Start" then "Computer."
Please note that under the "Device Manager" section, then "Disk Drives," my drive is recognized.
I might need to reinitialize it, but how can I do that since I can't see it anywhere?

Thank you for your help

In my opinion, it needs to be reset; it must have been encrypted by the C+ box (to prevent the copying of recorded movies?)
To do this, you need to go to the Windows disk management: administrative tools/Computer management/disk management
it should appear in the list.

Congratulations rio73.
I have successfully determined that disk number 1 needed to be INITIALIZED.
Now I just need to check if I can read/write.
Thanks again for your help.

NO PROBLEM FOR WRITING OR READING.
IT'S IDEAL FOR MAKING BACKUPS.
A NOTE: before I had a partition, normal with one disk and now that I have 2 disks, my second has become the main partition and the original has become the secondary partition.!! Why not as long as it works!!!...and I believe my PC is MORE RESPONSIVE THAN before...
Thanks again for your help.

right-click on your computer
click on manage
storage
disk management
there you will see your disk and you will assign a letter to it
