Hello,
So I just bought a 256GB Crucial M4 SSD and I noticed that when I scan or start up, especially when it needs to access a lot of data, my SSD makes a high-pitched noise that I can hear mostly when I'm close to my MacBook Pro.
I'm wondering if this little noise is normal since manufacturers usually say they are silent???
Thanks for your future replies...
Configuration: Mac OS X / Safari 536.25

A SSD makes a very high-pitched but very light noise when it has to read a lot of data in 4K (small files).
It seems to me that you have a faulty electronic component, hence the noise.
Normally, it shouldn't be audible even if you're close to the MacBook.
Did you take a special warranty with it or not? In that case, you need to check with the retailer/site where you bought it.
If it's the regular warranty, contact Crucial.
