Hello,
I have been experiencing a number of problems with my laptop for two and a half weeks (see config below)
First, I had a big issue with the OS (which I still don't know the origin of) that forced me to restore my computer to factory settings... For this, I used the CD provided with my computer and reinstalled Windows, everything went smoothly.
Then, more recently, my computer was freezing for about 10 minutes on "starting Windows", the problem was fixed by the "Windows Startup Repair tool" => or something like that. Since then, everything has been fine!
BUT ... Let's get to the current problem: 4 issues have arisen on my PC since... last night:
1) Windows Update no longer wants to install this update: "Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile for x64 systems under Windows 7 (KB982670)
Installation date: ?26/?06/?2012 19:55
Installation status: Failed
Error details: Code 641"
2) Windows Media Player will not launch ANYTHING (neither music nor movies) but displays this message: "the file wmploc.dll has version number 12.0.7601.17514; whereas version 12.0.7600.16667 was expected. It is not installed correctly. Would you like to install it from the Microsoft site" and when I go to the site it tells me that the version for Windows 7 is provided with --'
3) The third issue concerns creating a recovery CD to speed things up in case of problems and to have a backup of my PC, when I attempt to do this, at 25% it tells me "The write failed because the drive returned information about an unrecoverable error (0xc0aa0301)" (DVD R+)
4) When I tried to uninstall Office Starter 2010 which is useless to me and causes my antivirus to bug when it scans it (with Revo Uninstaller), halfway through the 4th step, it tells me "Cannot access the Windows Installer service. This may occur if the Windows Installer is not properly installed. Contact your technical support for assistance." But I can finish and go to the next step and it offers to delete registry keys (I say no because I don't know anything about that and I'm waiting for your responses).
Additionally, my computer is experiencing significant slowdowns due to the repeated non-responsiveness of Windows Explorer..

My config.:
ASUS N73SV
DirectX 11
Win7 Home Premium Edition
Intel Core i7 - 2630QM. 2.0 GHz
6GB of RAM
1TB Hard Drive
Ask me if you need more information (I'm a beginner so I don't know what to give you)
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
Regards
