What is Haali Media Splitter?

To stop the "haali video splitter" icon from appearing in the notification area:

double click on it, then go to the "Options" tab
Expand (click on the "+") "Interface", choose the line "show tray icon" then select "No" from the menu below.

That's it.

Sorry to cut you off (forgive me), but I actually have a problem with this "Haali media splitter"...
I downloaded and installed K-Lite Media Codec (full, of course ^^) and I haven't had any issues for 3 months, but today I tried to play a video on my PC (DivX), and the images are choppy... I checked the taskbar to see the reason, and I saw the icon of that thing, I tried with another video, but it didn't show up anymore and the video played normally...

Could you explain the reason to me please? I would really like to get rid of it, it's starting to get annoying :s

I have the same problem. I don't know what this "Haali media splitter" is. I downloaded K-Lite and I think it was installed with it. The problem is that all my videos seem to be damaged because every time I try to open one of these videos, an error message says "access denied." Additionally, I download with Ares and I want to preview the video I’m downloading; "it didn’t cause me any problems before this splitter was installed." Now Ares doesn’t display anything, and the "Haali media splitter" icon appears in the taskbar below. Should I uninstall it, and how? Just uninstall K-Lite?

Haali Media Splitter is a splitter pack that offers the best splitter for MKV but also for AVI, MP4, OGG, OGM, and MPEG TS. Go to your Haali Media Splitter folder and click on Uninstall...

I had never been aware of the existence of this haali, but I just saw it appear at the bottom right (next to the battery, avast, network icons, etc.). I have Windows Vista.
The appearance of the icon followed the opening of a sound file in OGG format.
There were even two identical icons at one point.
When I closed WMP, the icon disappeared.
I don't find it annoying, but I wouldn't want to have 10 icons like powpowland.
We'll see if it's a codec, it shouldn't be too harmful.

I also have "Haali media splitter" with Windows Media Player 2 (I'm studying it to see all the codec formats). The icon appears when I start it. Right-click on the icon and take a look.

I've also had an icon for "haali media splitter" in my taskbar at the bottom right for a few days now, and it annoys me to have it there for no reason without being able to remove it.
When it's not at the bottom, I have 3 icons: "one for haali... one for media and one for splitter," right next to the Google bar, always on the right.

How can I get rid of it permanently?

I didn't have it before, and everything was working just fine!

Please help me get rid of it... thanks a lot!!!

Good evening everyone, I see that many are experiencing big issues (which I am too) I found this haalali (halali it feels like we're hunting lol) I don't know what it's for, anyway I have no sound despite plenty of research and the intervention of an incompetent professional, so I'm going to uninstall it. Have a good evening, I don't come here often but if I can help with something I will let you know (I'm not a specialist, far from it :(

I also have Haali Media Splitter (which installed itself somehow) but it seems that uninstalling it isn't a problem: I click on "start" where all the programs are, then I click on "all programs," then on the Haali Media Splitter folder that opens, and the uninstall program is available.
