Hello,
I created a montage and put it directly on a CD, but I didn't think to save it by going through FILE, then SAVE VIDEO FILE; on MY COMPUTER. So, this montage is unreadable on VLC or elsewhere.
I would like to know if I can convert it so that I can read it.
Thank you in advance.
Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 12.0

Hello,
What software did you use?
If it’s WMM and you created a DVD-Video, you should theoretically be able to play it with VLC by selecting either a disc or a folder and choosing the VIDEO_TS directory. I’m not sure if that’s the case, because a DVD-Video is burned onto a DVD and not onto a CD as you seem to have done.
If I’m completely “off the mark,” please explain how you did it and/or what kind of file do you see when exploring the disk?
Best regards

What do you see when exploring the disk if you can?
If you can't do it, use IsoBuster, which in its free version offers this possibility.
Or indicate the type of file that is on the disk?
And how did you do it? This might eventually help to see what didn't work in your method...

If it's an MSWMM file (WLMP if WLMM), then you can, in principle, reopen it in WMM.
This file corresponds to the recording of your project in WMM.
All you have to do is click on Save to my computer to get a video file in WMV by default.
See here: https://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/7731-windows-movie-maker-enregistrer-en-format-autre-que-mswmm#q=mswmm&cur=2&url=%2F
If that's not it, then indicate the extension of your file.

I really can't open it again in WMM. A message appears, it says: "The file C:\Users\Toshiba\Videos\Film-gravure.msdvd cannot be imported because the codec needed for playback is not installed on your computer. If you have already downloaded and installed the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, then re-import the file."

After a little research, I found this about MSDVD files: http://www.windows-media.net/windowsmedia/files/msdvd
So you should not open it with WMM (sorry for the mistake) but with Windows DVD Creation or DVD Maker
On Windows 7, using Windows DVD Creation requires burning to a DVD; I don't know about Vista but I think it's the same, since saving to the computer is not possible. I therefore use a DVD RW if I want to retrieve the contents of the disk later.
