honestech vhs to dvd 2.0 se : colors?

Question

Hello everyone,
Having acquired the cable to transfer VHS to DVD,
everything works.... EXCEPT: the colors, no matter which VHS cassette I capture, it's always in black and white :-( I've tested every option of "PAL" and "SECAM" but never any color :-(
SO HOW DO I GET COLOR PLEASE???

Hello,

I'm pulling my hair out! I have no sound or image but it's recording! I want to transfer video tapes to my PC and then to DVD. I'm doing this with honestech VHS to DVD 2.0 SE; I have all three connectors plugged in, matching the colors, and I think it’s due to a wrong setting that I haven't figured out yet!!! I hope you've been helped since then. You're almost there!

I don't know what your equipment is (Honestech vhs to dvd 2.0 se is the software), but this happens when you select the SVHS input instead of the composite input.

What is your capture hardware?

..and you are connected to the black socket, that’s "SVHS", on the yellow, it’s "Composite".

What is the model of your camcorder?

You can try with Windows Movie Maker, or VLC (Media, Open Capture Device)

It appears that the capture card does not support the SECAM format (the French format coming from your VCR). Hence the black and white output. You will need to look for equipment that accepts this format as input.

Good evening, two tape recorders with SCART connectors are both broken, so I took a CD player to check it works, so I think it might be the tape recorder output. Should I try with another one?

I've tried everything, I connect all the equipment correctly with the three colored plugs and I have no image on my control screen??
However, if I connect a DVD player, it works, but with the video player, nothing at all!
Who could help me??
P.S.: I'm really bad with computers!!

Hello.
My camcorder is a Sony AF 8 mm. I have a capture card from honestech, and I’ve connected my cables properly: yellow to yellow, red to red, and since it’s a mono output, my third cable is not connected. USB key to PC, camcorder turned on, images appear along with sound, but the image quality is very poor with a lot of blue. The video output is in PAL, which is the Sony system.
Has anyone had good results with this capture tool, and how did you do it?

I have the same problem as you.
SECAM format videos to convert. And no matter which input mode is chosen in the Vhs-to-dvd software, it comes out in black and white on output ...
Has anyone solved the problem?

Hello,

You plug your key into the PC
You click on the Honnestech icon
You click on the two little nuts on the left
You click on video decoder, then go to the arrow and choose SECAM or other.

I struggled for two days.
My problem is I have a lot of noisy pixels. Thanks if you have a solution.
