Can't delete thumbs.db FILE!!

Hello everyone,
I recently received an email from my boss in which she sent me a series of images to create folders for our shop. So I opened the email and clicked on "download all as zip". I extracted the files and made the folders, etc. Now that I want to delete the folder, everything deletes EXCEPT for an indestructible THUMBS.DB file! It's annoying because I have a folder in my documents that I no longer need but can't delete.
Every time I try to delete the thumbs file, I get this message: "Unable to delete the thumbs file: this resource is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again."
I looked up information online because I’m a novice in computing. I downloaded a software called DELTHUMBS... it deleted all my thumbs files EXCEPT for the one I'm telling you about... What should I do? Thank you.

As for me, there is no need to download software. By pointing to my file and using "SHIFT+Delete" (which permanently deletes without going through the recycle bin), it deleted the *.db file. Then I was able to delete the folder containing the *.db file.
