How to open TCP/UDP ports Solved

Question

Hello,

I would like to know how to open UDP and TCP ports in order to allow eMule to function freely because I am on Low-ID, which is very annoying.

I use a Belkin 54G Wireless Wi-Fi modem.

I would like to clarify that I am using the Kerio Personal Firewall.

In fact, not knowing how to configure it for using eMule or simply playing online games, I always turn it off.

If you are familiar with this firewall, could you please let me know if it is possible to configure it, and how to do so?

Yes, I saw..
but the problem is that I don't have an interface associated with my router except for an .exe that gives me brief information about the signal quality, etc.. I’ve searched in vain but can’t find it.

Is there not another way to open ports?

P.S.: While trying to disable the Windows firewall, a message indicates that due to an unknown error, I cannot access it... which doesn’t help at all with P2P programs

I had already tried this manipulation by reading a post or searching elsewhere, but I couldn't manage it. This time I tried with each of the IPs given by going to:

Start -> Run -> ipconfig/all

and I was able to access the interface for configuring my router thanks to one of those IPs, great!!!

I will try to open some ports and keep you updated.

Jack Lufuta says that opening ports is good, but when a hacker gets in and does bad things, it won't be interesting anymore, given that you must first know which ports are open and if they are really useful; otherwise, close them. Because trojans love to listen to instructions from the outside. To see which ports are open, you run netstat -a in the command prompt, and you'll see the multitude of open ports, and if you want to open more, go ahead!

Thank you for answering my question about finding the right ports! But in the end, I didn't understand anything anymore!!! Do I need to open port 139? Or something else?? Since I don't know much about computers... I don't want to do anything stupid!!  Thanks again  Marine

Set up port forwarding: on your router's configuration interface, open your port corresponding to the eMule setup to the private IP address of the PC on which you want to use the eMule software!  Be careful with illegal downloads :)

Hello  I have been browsing the forum for a few days now, and I can't solve the problem!  I use the torrent network, but I had to go back to eMule for a specific file.  eMule version .48a starts downloading at 3KB/s after 5 minutes and uploads at 1KB/s.  I checked the connection, the firewall, and all eMule settings, but I can't manage to resolve this annoying phenomenon.  I'm using XP Home Edition.   If someone could help me, that would be really nice   Thanks

and enter the port numbers that emule suggested with the connection speed tests
I accept that it restarts my live box (to initialize these port numbers in its flash memory
and other things, checkboxes in emule PREFERENCE/CONNECTION

and finally don’t forget to restart emule for it to initialize

to access your alice router I hope you know how to do it and if so give me the trick
it could help someone else

Hello, I have a real problem  I have a Belkin 54g Wi-Fi router and when I want to watch a video on YouTube or Dailymotion, the video loads for the first minute and then freezes. The same goes for downloads, which stop at around 20%!  I don't understand what's going on!!! look at post 68 and do the same thing, except you need to connect to your alicebox and your steps are slightly different from Free's, but the principle is the same.
to connect to your box, check the Alice website, it should probably say how to do it.

I’m currently in university housing, and I have internet access with a network that was offered to us (it's included in the rent).

I do not have access to the router/modem to open a port to make Emule work with a high ID.

I read the responses to this post and did the following:

start -> run -> cmd and in the command prompt I typed netstat -a

a list of TCP and UDP ports appeared

I found the UDP port 38885 which corresponds to my emule and the TCP port 40450 is not listed, but in my list, there are 50,000 and 50,001...

but how can I activate them??? knowing that the UDP port appears like this in the list:

UDP acer-1f614b65c2:38885 *:*

and the TCP:

TCP acer-1f614b65c2:50000 acer-1f614b65c2:0 LISTENING 0

I’m waiting for your advice! and to know if there’s a way from my computer to open ports to better make the emule run!

Uh guys, I'm reading here and there that you're advising to do port forwarding but don’t you feel like you're forgetting something? The first thing to do is to set a static IP because even with port forwarding, they'll look silly when the DHCP server renews the lease with a new IP address!!!

If you have Windows, it's very simple :) You go to: >Start menu >Control Panel >Windows Firewall Then: -Exceptions tab -Add a port And finally: -You choose TCP or UDP -You enter the name you want, often the name of its purpose (so you don't get lost) -You enter the port number to open -You click OK  And there you go, it's magic, the port is open and it's time for P2P =D (It's worth noting that P2P is illegal and punishable).
