Hello,
I'm looking to crop an image in Illustrator.
I do know how to do it in Photoshop, but it seems simpler and faster to avoid juggling between multiple software.
I create a shape in Illustrator using the shape or pen tool. Then I place a JPEG image on top that overflows beyond the shape created in a lower layer. Using the Pathfinder tool doesn't allow me to remove the overflowing part.
However, when I create two different shapes on top of each other, select both with the white arrow, and then apply the Pathfinder/Divide, I'm able to delete what I don’t need.
I'm therefore reaching out for your expertise so that I can overcome this problem.
Thank you in advance
Configuration: Windows 7 / Safari 535.11

Hello,
Nothing could be simpler!
Just create a clipping mask.
*Place your image and your shape as you wish on the same layer.
*Place your image in the background and your shape in the foreground
*Select your image and your shape > right click > create a clipping mask.
You're all set!
Best regards!
I'm not crazy, I'm just a Penguin ^^
