Cropping in Illustrator

Hi everyone

In Photoshop, there is a cropping tool that allows us to cut out unwanted parts of our work and export the desired central part... In Illustrator, I can't do that... I crop with the Artboard tool, but it doesn't change anything... when I export my work, I get the complete image back!!

How can I do that?

    To crop your image to the size of your workspace, you need to create a clipping mask (menu "Object/Clipping Mask/Create") or press Ctrl+7 when your image is selected.

    Then you will have the option to reduce the sides of your image without changing its size. BUT this does not change the JPG export, which will always be the same size. The difference is that you will have a white area around the visible part of the image.

    At this point, a simple crop in an image editing software will solve the problem.

      but I can't crop on Photoshop because I no longer have the guides that allow me to crop my final layout according to the frame I chose in Illustrator, the images in my layout overflow on all sides :/ ....

      I am not trying to crop an image, but to crop all my work

      Once I finish the editing, I want to crop everything and eliminate the parts that overflow... the boundaries of the workspace are visible in Illustrator, but when I export, the boundaries are not cut.

      When exporting to JPG from Illustrator, check the "use artboards" option (at the bottom left in the export window)...

      I think this should do what you want...
