Hello everyone who are Mac users
maybe you can help me?
I downloaded aMule 2.1.3 on my Mac OSX 10.4 and I updated the servers but I can't do anything, it keeps saying: "connection lost"
I don't know what to do anymore, I left three messages on the forum but no one is replying to me.
I also believe that aMule is the only one compatible with my Mac?

Attention, 2 versions aMule exist 2.1.3 for 10.3  and  2.1.3 for 10.4  do you have the right one HERE  if yes, it's a preferences problem.  --  but what is the Planck wall?

In the archive (.zip), there should be a version description, right? Maybe mention its compatibility with this or that system. I've never used aMule myself. I can't be of more help.

Oh yes, that's what it's for. Well, I don't use a P2P system. There are plenty of client-server solutions and free hosting options. To share things, I prefer FTP accounts; it's very simple for downloading: just a good browser is enough.

We don’t have control in P2P; anyone can intercept packets, know the contents of archives, and identify the sender.
In a client-server solution, we only share with those we've chosen (unless Google or similar gets involved, but it's possible to block their bots), and we can encrypt the data. This is in the realm of confidentiality.

I have used KDX from Haxial extensively; it allows for complete encryption of exchanges, is cross-platform, is consolidatable, and lets you easily share things over a local network without dealing with a heavy network configuration. It includes a sort of telephony, remote control of another machine, chat, private messaging, and public messaging. But it's ugly, though the interface is completely customizable. And it's not very expensive.

To get back to our mirrors, I'm less sure about what the language of the link causes on the app. I don't think it changes anything. I believe that depending on the origin, the download of the app happens faster or slower. If you're in the USA, you're not going to take a link that comes from Belgium or other countries far away. So whatever the link, it's a question of speed.

That's my opinion. Try different links yourself and check the speed.

I don't use amule because it's too complex for servers and the files are often bad or not meeting the request. I mainly use torrent which gives very good results for music, whether complete albums or full discographies, and for software or videos as well; especially since the upload or download speeds are higher, so downloads are often faster. I use Azureus which is a good compromise on Mac. See you later!

Mac or PC, Emule or Amule, it seems that the eDonkey servers have been shut down. From what I understand from the German justice system. No more E(A)mule for everyone. At least until new servers are created. In the meantime, there are other alternatives: - Limewire (free): mainly for Anglo-Saxon music. - BitTorrent sites: like torrentmatrix or snowtigers and mininova... You can download torrent files which, once placed in software like (Xtorrent), allows for much faster downloads than Emule/Amule. The only downside: all these sites mainly offer downloads that are Anglo-Saxon. So if anyone has addresses for French-speaking content!?

Good evening  Until now, I had no problems with aMule. But this weekend, my ISP crashed on me (TV, Internet, Phone). They reset everything and therefore changed my Public IP. Now when I connect to aMule I get the following message: Warning: www.fuckademy.com (74.50.101.2:4242) - NG: Your ip (XXX.XXX.XX.0) ends with a 0. The edonkey protocol assigns a LOWID to you. Hello   I have a recurring problem on two computers connected to the same network ... I did follow the installation correctly. Every time I click on the magnifying glass for the search,  I can’t use it because to the right of “NAME:” there is the word CANCEL instead of the word START (I suppose),  which means that aMule shuts down every time I start a search. Hello,  Here we go again... Amule version 2.1.3 works just as well on X.4 (Tiger) as it does on X.5 (Leopard). Of course, if you are behind a router, you'll need to think about opening the ports for Amule so that your two little green arrows turn green. As for the files we download, a simple right-click on them allows you to see if they're fake or not. Sometimes the node.dat file installed with Amule isn't up to par, which causes the KAD network not to work, and you need to download a more recent one.
