LEFT CLICK MOUSE BUG S.O.S

Question

Hello,

since this morning my mouse is not working properly anymore!

I'm on Internet Explorer and Windows 7.

My right click is fine, but the left one is acting weird:
- everything works well for using the navigation arrows, but if I want to open a link on a page, nothing happens with my left click! I have to (when possible!!!) right-click and choose "open" for the link to open: admit it, it’s not very practical ;)
Sometimes if I double-click quickly on the link it works occasionally (it seems to depend on the links...)
so that's a real hassle I'm experiencing and I don't see any solutions since I'm not a computer expert, hence my request for help from you ;))

I thought I had caught a virus but my Malwarebytes scan didn't detect anything (except that when I went into the quarantine report, I had quite a few trojans, so I clicked on "delete all" hoping I cleaned everything, but it’s still strange that I was told no threats were detected...)

Can you please help me?

If the mouse is connected to a USB port, check that the power management is disabled (as it is enabled by default on Windows 10 and can cause instability).

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Change plan settings -> Change advanced power settings -> USB settings -> USB selective suspend setting -> set the setting to: "Disabled"

the problem is simple: the left button is dead! dead! broken...  change the mouse or replace it if you know how to solder. -- the chair/keyboard interface is the hardest to configure.

Well, I bought a new mouse but arghhhh I still have the same problem!

I think I might have a bug in my PC but I have no idea where it’s coming from...

Indeed, here are my other problems:

- issues writing emails in Hotmail
- my mouse selects a sign and the option next to it or below it opens
- an error message at every PC restart: "WDDM SERVICE NOT RUNNING"
- an inability to restore the system
- a message telling me "switch to" at every PC startup

In short, I’m completely lost and I’m tearing my hair out one by one

Avast is good for those who are cautious...
but it struggles with certain malware afterwards.

Personally, Microsoft's antivirus and its antimalware didn't find an old virus msn (inactive) on my machine.

I uninstalled Avast, ran HouseCall which indicates that the scan detected no danger, however I don't see where to check auto clean in the workstation

the Fix It scan has resolved some issues but the problem still remains.

Otherwise, I am stuck because the HouseCall scan doesn't provide any results and Fix It repairs the issues but the problem persists.

I reinstalled the free Avast and I only have the Windows firewall, indeed.

Hello, I found it because I also had this recurring problem. In fact, open an internet window and go to tools. Then disable the pop-up blocker and everything will return to normal.

Hello everyone,

I had some issues with my wireless Logitech mouse. After dropping it on the floor several times, it stopped working properly. I was about to throw it in the trash, but I opened it carefully instead. I cleaned it with a can of compressed air, and there were tiny bits of dirt stuck to the left button, which caused my mouse to malfunction and not select anything, due to the dust.
After the simple cleaning, it works perfectly like before. I hope I could be helpful.
