MEP code free SIM card issue

Hello,

Let me explain, I received my Free Mobile SIM card, the line is activated. It works in two unlocked phones. However, it doesn't work in my Blackberry. It should be unlocked since I inserted a zero plan SIM card into it and that worked (I wasn't asked for an MEP code).
When I insert the Free SIM into my Blackberry Torch, I get the following message: "the SIM card is not unlocked, do you want to unlock it," I select yes, and then I'm asked for an MEP code.
I did some research and my MEP code is as follows: MEP-05277-005. We only enter the numbers, right? So if I only enter the numbers, the code doesn't work.

In your opinion, what could be the problem? I don't understand...

    go here, everything is explained properly;
however, you need to have the unlocking code from the previous operator.
well yes, you need to have anticipated the steps a bit
good luck to those who are struggling

All in all, I bought a MEP unlock code, because apparently there are 2 different ones, and it worked! I thought my phone was unlocked since it was working with a ZEROFORFAIT sim, but actually, it wasn't.

Hello everyone; paulineviv, I’m experiencing the same issue as you. I just activated my Free SIM and I'm being asked for the MEP code. So I’d like to know if each code is different for each mobile, or if we can buy this famous code. Thank you.

No, you need to call the phone operator, namely Orange, to check if it is indeed an Orange phone. The SIM card number consists of a series of about 13 digits. Be careful, only three attempts are possible; otherwise, the phone will be locked, and that’s more complicated for you because it will need to be updated.

I think that the Free SIM card is not compatible with the BlackBerry. I'm doing a quick check; for the MEP CODE, you need to go to your previous operator, which is what I did, but the code doesn't work. I think our BlackBerry phones won't work with the Free line; because my sister has a Samsung, she entered the MEP code and her phone worked, while mine didn't. I suggest you buy a phone directly from Free so you won't be bothered.

I have the Free Mobile SIM card, but it simply says SIM card error!
The MEP codes are the ones we usually use to unlock phones :/
    Have you tried calling 3244???

Do you have a Blackberry? Because with another phone, they didn't ask me to enter the MEP code.

    Hello,
to unlock a BlackBerry phone, you need the MEP number in the following format:
MEP-*****-*** which is noted under the battery (use a magnifying glass because it's really written small).

Otherwise, you need the IMEI number, which you can get by dialing *#06# on the phone keypad, and it will appear in the following format:
    ******.**.******.*

Give me this info and I might be able to help you ;)
