Hello,
I recently bought an Asus g74sx. I would like to install the drivers so I can use it, but I'm having trouble.
Firstly, I can't connect to the Internet (I have Wi-Fi, and it doesn't detect it: it's asking for an Ethernet cable). Note that the Wi-Fi icon is enabled on the PC. Unable to go online, I can't download the drivers.
Then, I tried to download the drivers on another PC and transfer them to the Asus. But it doesn't detect either the USB stick or the disk.
How can I install these drivers and finally be able to use my Asus??
Thank you in advance ;)

Re,
I am surprised that with such an athlete you have the problems you reported:
is your Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit the original one?
Make sure that Windows Update has updated its components on your Ultimate.
In principle, the choice of drivers and applications to update should be done on this ASUSTeK page: http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&m=G74Sx&p=3&s=336
It may not be unusual, although regrettable, that your 64-bit operating system does not recognize old CDs: your Help and Support should provide you with some clarifications on this matter.
To know which drivers to update, you should check
> Control Panel > System > Device Manager (expand by clicking on the little + to turn them into little - ) and see if any devices display a little yellow warning symbol: if so, there are driver repairs/updates to be made.
Otherwise, I am fairly certain that this type of hardware originally came with automated applications for updating and/or repairing the pre-installed operating system: this would save you from having to perform a "factory reset," which is always quite difficult to carry out.
Best regards

Good evening,
If the users knew which operating system needs to be updated, maybe they could help find a solution...
Is it the operating system originally present on the Asus?
What is its exact name?
Best regards.

My friend, I have the same amazing PC, by the way there's a driver CD included with my rooster, instead of searching everywhere.
This is an Asus G74SX-91020V, with Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit). I found an old Ethernet cable, and I was able to fix the problem
Well, almost all: the disk drive still doesn’t detect disks. Which driver should I install, or where do you think the problem lies?
