The screen turns red, green, blue.

Question

Hello,
I have had a laptop (Dell, P4HT, WinXP) for 2 years, everything was working quite well, except tonight: I was watching a movie and there was a blue screen message indicating that there was a problem with the graphics card... since then, my screen keeps switching from red to green to blue to white to black (in that exact order) continuously. What can I do since it's a laptop and the graphics card cannot be removed? And how can I fix the drivers if I no longer have a screen?
I tried connecting a monitor from my desktop, but nothing works, the same overwhelming colors... any advice?! (no valid Dell warranty left).

Hi everyone, I have the same problem too, but I only have the Dell monitor. Normally, when I turn off my computer, the monitor goes into sleep mode automatically, but today when I turned off my PC, colorful patterns appeared, red, blue, yellow, green,.......... and I can't turn it off with the button. Please help me, I don't know what's going on, but I'm asking you to explain it to me or give me a solution for this malfunctioning monitor.

I have the same problem too, and when I tap it a little underneath, it goes back in place.  I think it's a loose connection.  Did you solve your problem?

Hello everyone,
I have a 17'' Proview screen that also turns red.
I noticed that when it's cool (really cool) in the room, nothing happens!!
But as soon as it starts to get a bit warm, that's when it begins to turn red.
At first, I thought it was my graphics card,
so what I did was add a double fan in the case to improve the cooling of the processor.
But nothing worked!!!
Then, I put a household fan next to it to blow fresh air.
That way, the air circulates much better and it doesn't turn red anymore or only occasionally
(yes, it's not very far from a wall).
THE POOR SCREEN NEEDS FRESH AIR!!!!
That's my observation!!!

My buddy's phone had the same problem... I removed the battery and touched a spot with my nail where there was like a little piece of black plastic, and I put the battery back in... surprise, the computer works perfectly.

The screen turns red, green, blue.
