Question

Hello, my PSP is broken. I can't get it repaired because I don't have the receipt or the warranty since it was a gift. The seller doesn't want to listen, but according to him, it would be a battery problem. When I turn it on, nothing happens except for the light turning on (on the right side). I tried plugging it in without the battery: green light but nothing else. And with the battery, the light is orange, I don't know what to do. Thank you for your help.

Hi, I had the same problem. The PSP wouldn't start, and there was nothing I could do... I found a really annoying solution but it works.
You remove the battery, put your PSP in the fridge or freezer to make it really cold to the touch. Like 10 minutes or more, then put the battery back in and it should work. At least for me, it works every time...

Uh, if a warning light comes on, there’s no reason it’s coming from the battery (unless it’s a light indicating an error, low battery, charging error or something else, check the user manual...).
And anyway, you don’t really have a choice; you need to contact either the customer service of the store where you bought it or Sony’s customer service, and retrieve the warranty and all proof of purchase....

Hello,

go to pspgen, tab "tutorials" and you will find the solution. If the power light turns on but the screen doesn't, it means your PSP is simply bricked. You then need to program a memory stick and a battery... I've done it 3 times already and each time it works again!!

I had the same problem as you! And quite simply, my PSP was bricked! I checked with customer service, like you I no longer had a receipt and the warranty had expired, and they told me that sending the PSP to Sony, just the shipping, would cost €130!
So I waited, and I found the solution... The PANDORA kit! You need a second working PSP to create a Pandora motherboard and battery. I was lucky, a friend already had this kit; he simply put his card in my PSP, his battery, then put my card and my battery back in, and everything worked :)

Hi! I have a problem, I downgraded a PSP, I put a custom firmware on it, it booted up fine, everything went well, I used a Pandora battery to downgrade it, and it was working perfectly. I started the PSP, did the settings, turned it off, and when I wanted to turn it back on, to my great surprise, nothing happens... The green light turns on, the screen remains black, it’s not even illuminated, and I have to remove the battery to turn it off. I tried the recovery mode, but nothing happens... I don’t think it’s bricked, because the screen should at least be illuminated if that were the case; right now, I have nothing at all, just the green light...
What could it be coming from, in your opinion? And how can I resolve the issue?

Well, the trick expert should stop talking nonsense about putting your PSP in the fridge or changing pixels.
First of all, if the LED lights up and the screen remains black, the problem isn’t the battery.
In most cases, the PSP is bricked, and if putting it in the fridge actually fixed it, that would be great.
Otherwise, for a PSP that has undergone modifications to the firmware and no longer turns on, or at least partially, try the Pandora battery. You can find plenty of tutorials by searching on Google. Alternatively, I recommend the pspgen website, which will guide you step by step, even for beginners. Moreover, this site is 100% reliable.

It's very simple. If you're in CF, turn off your PSP (by pressing and holding the power button for about 5 seconds). Then turn it back on while holding the R button, go to the configuration, and there will be an option for UMD. Press it and switch to no UMD, and normally that's it.

It has already happened to me, the green light came on; either you remove the battery and put it back in and it works, or it's bricked. But you need to have tried downgrading first; otherwise, you should try plugging it into the wall without the battery.

Il faut appeler le service après-vente Sony PSP au 0139338300 qui te donnera un numéro de retour et l'emmener chez un spécialiste d'où Sony fera passer un transporteur aller-retour. Le forfait transport/réparation est d'environ 80 euros, si tu passes par la Fnac, le forfait est plutôt de 120 euros. Le mieux est de passer par Micromania.
