Hello,
I have a problem with my Aspire 7535G laptop (if that can help you help me)
my laptop has a palm rest that works very well except that there is some kind of halo (there wasn’t one when I bought it) and it sticks to my hands (not like super glue but it’s quite uncomfortable)
I want to point out that this also happens with my Logitech USB mouse
and thank you in advance...
PS: there are no dedicated sections for laptops that’s why I’m allowed to ask my question here
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 7.0.1

    Hello...

Rubbing alcohol often does the trick, but unplug the power supply AND the battery, and don’t drown it! ;)

    Best regards,

For my part, I use nail polish remover (my mom's works perfectly ^^)

Some solvents contain acetone, it's harsh...!

Yes, we should avoid those, of course.

Don't use your PC with dirty hands!

    Well...

There are screen cleaning wipes that are quite "powerful" but they are very expensive.

Rubbing alcohol or 90° alcohol remains a good solution, but be careful with the application:

-> unplug and remove the battery and wait a bit! There are capacitors in a PC, so wait 5 minutes for them to discharge.

For better results, take a clean cloth, put some alcohol on it: the cloth should be damp but not dripping!
and place it on your palm rest: let it sit for a while (about 1 hour).
    Be careful:
If the palm rest is tilted towards the keyboard, that is to say if you put liquid on the palm rest, it will flow towards the keyboard, set your PC so that any liquid on the palm rest drains away from the PC. This way, when the dirt starts to come loose, it won't flow into your PC!

Then gently rub (not like a brute!) a bit and start again with a clean cloth until it no longer sticks!

Tip: for the "rubbing" part, the ideal is a microfiber cloth: it "scrapes" a bit while being soft.

    There you go.

While in burning alcohol, they remove so many things that soon we could drink it! ;)

Ahhhh!!!! That explains why my last barbecue went out when I tried to rekindle it wildly with rubbing alcohol ^^
