Acer Inspire 5 Laptop Won't Turn On.

Hello everyone.

I would like to ask for your help regarding an issue I'm facing with my ACER Aspire 5 laptop that won't turn on.

The indicator light related to the bulb design blinks every three seconds when my PC is not plugged into a power source. When it is plugged in, the same indicator along with the battery light blinks together every three seconds - as long as I press the power button.

Initially, when I plug my PC into the power source, the battery light turns orange and stays steady. However, now it flashes every three seconds if I press the power button.

I thought this was due to the charger cable being partially severed. So I bought a new one, and the issue remains the same. Therefore, the problem does not stem from that.

• I pressed the power button for 30 seconds as suggested online, but nothing happened.

• I unplugged and re-plugged it, etc., still nothing.

• I opened the "lid" and cleaned the fan - which was quite dusty - but still no change...

As a side note, I touched the touchpad with my wet fingers. Maybe some water got between the keys because other letters showed up on the screen when I pressed certain keys.

Since it notified me that my password was incorrect - for the above reason - I preferred to turn off my PC and turn it back on to restart the process - this time with dry fingers. However, my PC wouldn't turn on, so I couldn't do it...

I may have... drowned my... Battery? (O _ o ' )

The problem is that... well... I have all my documents on my PC that are extremely necessary and useful for my work.

- You should have thought about that before touching your PC with wet fingers, Billy!

- Yes, I know...

- Didn't you put your documents on Drive?

- No, I refuse to put things on those kinds of platforms.

If anyone has any ideas... I'm all ears!

    At worst, you remove the hard drive and use it as an external drive in a case or connect it to a desktop computer to recover all your files.

    As for your hardware issue, for the letters that appear multiple times, it's indeed possible that the keyboard ribbon cable has been affected by water or not.

    But the blinking LEDs probably indicate a battery issue or a fault in the power supply.

      I'm willing to help, but... Well, I'm not an expert - even if that's the basic minimum - but... I can't find it.

      And on the Internet, it shows up in the top left of the fan (in the photograph, it should be in the top right on the black spot) but it's not there.

      Which seems unlikely to me since there's storage. So... Where is Bry... Hard drive?

        So... Where is Bry... Hard drive?

        In the photo, it's at the bottom left labeled Kingston on the sticker. A few precautions before removing it: read the tutorial, it's an M.2 SSD, and it doesn't have a case. Don't lose the screw, there's only one like that.

        Thank you for your help.

        Unfortunately, nothing is working...

        After removing it, I was able to insert it into a gaming computer that had a dedicated slot for it, but it didn't recognize it, even after searching for the item in Create and format hard disk partitions.

        I was on a call at that moment with a friend who knows about computers, who made me understand that the card was apparently dead.

        I also tried with an adapter in which the SSD card needs to be inserted, but it was not detected by the five computers - which I borrowed from my relatives for this purpose - either.

        And now, I put it back in my main PC that I turned on, but it still won't start.

        So, I'm giving up.

        But I thank you nonetheless and again for your help.

    Hello,

    Remove the battery, connect only the adapter and try to see if you can turn on the computer.

      I thought about this solution, but since the battery is integrated and not external, I didn't know how to proceed. However, I took the time to watch some videos; I just needed to remove a black tape and unclip the battery.

      Once that was done, I plugged in my PC as you recommended, and the screen lit up showing "ACER" - as normal.

      The problem is that two seconds later, the screen turned off, and I couldn't get it to turn back on. A bitter hope. Haha.

      And this happened even after a *reset* with the help of a paperclip behind the cover.
