Hello,
I recently put a sticker on my laptop and now I want to remove it (it's peeling off, getting damaged...). I'm looking for a solution to remove the glue without damaging my laptop.
I searched online, but they suggest using acetone, which might eat away at the plastic; oil, but I'm afraid of spilling it on the laptop's components; a hairdryer, but I might fry my laptop...
Thanks for your help!

Configuration: Windows 8 / Chrome 23.0.1271.97

    Hello,

To remove glue without damaging your surface, an old "bookstore trick" is to use Eau Ecarlate (Essence F)

    it won't damage your surface.

The one who advised you to use acetone is "stupid" you're going to melt the plastic.

You can use scarlet water; I use that to remove glue stains on the computer, the motorcycle, etc.

+1 I have some friends who are booksellers, and they use it to remove the labels from books...

Well, with some oil (rapeseed) and a lot of elbow grease, everything is gone! Thank you for your replies!

    Good evening

Acetone in small doses on a paper cloth should do the trick... ^^

We didn't say to soak it in a bath because that would definitely melt it ^:)

Using acetone on plastic will "eat away" at the material... forget that idea.

I had bought a roll of "blackboard" stickers so I could write on it. Bad idea ;)
