Copy a file without its properties?

Hello,

Is there a way to disable the "do you want to copy the file without its properties?" function? This question keeps coming up every time we want to transfer a file from one drive to another, and it becomes extremely tedious in the end, a time-wasting repetition.

In: Control Panel/Folder Options/View, is it enough to uncheck "Use Sharing Wizard"? Or is it elsewhere? I'd rather ask the question than venture into surprises. Thank you for your responses.

No one has an answer? I have the same issue with some files, especially with my mp3 music files. It seems to happen mainly when copying from my external hard drive to an SD or mini-SD card.

I had the same issue when trying to copy data from a hard drive formatted in NTFS to a USB stick formatted in FAT32.
By formatting this 32 GB USB stick to NTFS, the message no longer appeared, it's magic :-)

The solution is therefore to perform a file copy between disks that have the same file system.

Best regards,

That's working great for me! Hoping it won't cause any issues with other files to paste...
Thank you very much! :)

Hi, probably a problem with hidden files, for example: the Desktop.ini files that define the icons and properties of folders are hidden, so you need to go to Control Panel - Folder Options - View, there is a subfolder called "Hidden files and folders", by default, this option is set to "Don't show hidden files and folders", you just need to select
"Show hidden files and folders" and then click on "apply".

Hello Nordine,

Sorry for this late reply. As a precaution, I always show hidden files, so the problem lies elsewhere. This message appears during almost all transfers, including when I can see and know the entire content of a file, and without Desktop.ini, Thumbnails, etc. A small group of .jpeg files, for example (and nothing else in the file), and the annoying message appears.
