"The file has properties that cannot be copied."

Hello.

I recently bought an external hard drive (DDE3) to store personal files from my old external hard drive (DDE2), but I can't transfer some of them: an error message appears and the computer no longer recognizes DDE3.
The error message: "the file has properties that cannot be copied."

These are mainly JPEG files and I don't understand what the problem is. I've done numerous scans (BitDefender, MalwareBytes, ChkDsk) without success.
My computer runs on Windows 10. DDE2 is formatted in NTFS and DDE3 in exFAT.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Do you need your DDE3 drive to be in exFAT format?
There's a good chance the message will disappear if the DDE3 drive is in NTFS.

    Hello.

Yes, unfortunately, when I opened the DDE3 for the first time, there was a note, in LibreOffice format stating: "The drive can only be formatted with Exfat and cannot be formatted in other formats, such as NTFS, FAT32, FAT. Otherwise it will cause the hard drive to be unusable!". It wasn't specified in the eBay listing.

    Thank you anyway.

That's a strange note. I don't see what would prevent a disk from being formatted to NTFS.

Do you have a USB stick to copy your stubborn files onto?

Yes, it's strange, I have the impression that it was the seller who left it and not the manufacturer. Yes, I have a key.

    Hello.

Regarding the files that are not copying, have you checked if they are set to read-only? To check, right-click on the file and then click on Properties. Uncheck the box if necessary.
    Best regards

    Hello.

I checked, they are not read-only.
I forgot to mention that I can transfer the files to my computer.

    Thank you.
