How to copy an audio CD to a laptop

Hello,

I have a laptop running Vista, and I would like to know the method to make an identical copy of a music CD onto my hard drive so that I can then burn it. I can extract the tracks, but that's in MP3 format. What I'm looking for is to create a perfect and exact copy of the CD.

Thank you in advance for your advice

:)

Al

Do you have your CD in physical format? If not, you can just copy and paste them and either re-burn them or keep them in order; it's exactly the same thing ;)

So insert the CD into your new PC! Open Windows Media Player and click on rip ;)

I've already done it this way, but all the files are then in mp3. On the contrary, I'm looking to make an identical copy, similar to what you would do if you were using a burning software.

    Hello

If you have Nero (the burning software that comes with burners... version 6, 7... or higher) in the menu, you need to go to the music note (create an audio CD) and then follow the instructions...

Alternatively, the Easy Burner software (free) can do the job as well. Again, just follow the instructions.

It's generally a very simple operation.
    Good luck.

Thank you for this response. I indeed have Nero and I admit I had stopped thinking about it.
I thought there was a Windows trick.

Yes, it's to copy audio CDs to my PC. I tried to copy and paste the tracks, but as soon as I try to open the files saved on the hard drive, they are unusable. That's what I still can't manage.

    Hello,

Simply copy your audio CD using the "copy" function of a burning software, for example.
Why do you want to rip your audio CD to your computer first if you want to burn it again later?
Or what bothers you when you want to do that?

    Best regards

    Hello,

"to copy a music CD exactly to my hard drive"...

You need to rip it using software like Cdex in .wav:

After that, I also have trouble understanding

I must have expressed myself poorly. I was trying to find out if there is a Windows method that doesn't require any other software.
      Thanks for the information anyway.

    Well no,

with Windows you only have "Windows" solutions and if you copy with Windows Media Player, you get audio files .wma or .mp3.

But these are not the HiFi standards of a commercial CD.
