My opinion: it is always important to take the time to read the information presented on a commercial website. MiniInTheBox clearly indicates the origin of its products as well as the possible customs fees involved:

I recommend this site for small orders, IT accessories, or telephony. For USB cables, cases, or iPhone screen protectors, I haven’t seen anything different compared to those purchased in Europe. For more technical products, I have no opinion.
For other categories of items, obviously the quality is equivalent to the price. You can't have your cake and eat it too. What can one expect from a €6 watch without seeing it up close before buying? So, with a bit of common sense, one can avoid feeling scammed. In case of doubt, it’s better not to buy. ;-)

I ordered a Bluetooth headset for iPhone as well as a USB charger adapter a month ago and still haven't received anything!!!!! However, they didn't hesitate to make the charge two days later!!!!

The site miniinthebox.com has been around for a while, and if it's still doing well today, it means it's not just a pure scam as I've read a bit higher. However, their customer service and after-sales service don't seem to be the best, but well, the prices are low, you can't have it all.

extremely disappointed after a purchase from them. It took a month and a half to receive the goods and of the 2 items, one did not work. No response from them despite several emails. Fortunately, the amount was not huge but the principle is the same. I say BE CAREFUL! Unreliable site when things go wrong.

I ordered Wii controllers at 21.30€ each on October 30th, and I just received them early this afternoon today, Saturday, November 19, 2001. They work like the originals without any issues, and I’m happy with them. The downside? Customs fees of 14.91€ on top! Well, I'm not happy about that at all, but I tell myself that I paid for 3 sets of 2-in-1 Motion remote + Nunchuk for Wii + case for 60€ instead of 50€ each ... I think I got a great deal! Honestly, I don’t regret my purchases. We'll see after intensive use by my 4 children in a year ...

I was very surprised upon receiving the package to have to pay the delivery person €41.15 to get my order worth €75 that I paid for by credit card. Apparently, these are customs fees, but there’s no phone number to contact them... to me, it’s a scam...

I ordered iPhone 4 cases at the beginning of January 2012! The package was shipped a week after the order was placed! However, the payment was taken two days after the order! One month later, still no package! This site is a pure scam! Or at least, you shouldn't expect to receive your packages quickly.

It's a scam... Order placed on 01/14/2012 for €83 with a delivery option of 3/5 days at €13.69. Order received on 01/30/2012, which is 16 days later, plus €30.15 in customs fees!!!!! It's cheap, but with the unexpected fees, it's outright theft. TO AVOID.

In addition to the small padlock that indicates that payment on this site is secure, it is important to know that if the website address is https, it is secure (http "s" for secure). However, I encourage you to get in touch with your bank and request to open an "e-card" account; you will receive an identifier and a password, along with a direct and secure link to your bank. Let me explain how all this works and what its purpose is. On the day you make an online purchase, when it comes time to pay, and you have the exact amount including shipping costs, you click on your bank's icon, which opens a direct and secure link to it. It will ask for your identifier, your password, and then the amount to be paid. Once you have filled this out and validated it, it will send you a picture of a credit card, just like a real card, with the numbers, the expiration date, and the 3 digits printed on the back of the card. You simply copy all these numbers into the payment fields on the vendor's website. Then, when you confirm your purchase, it is always accepted and never declined. The big advantage is that the bank generates a virtual card for you that is only used for a single purchase. If a malicious person were to intercept the card number, they could do absolutely nothing with it because the transaction has already gone through, and additionally, that malicious person would need to make a purchase for the exact amount of the completed transaction. So it's almost impossible. You can make as many purchases as you want online safely and without ever giving out your real personal credit card number. Each time you make a purchase, your bank will generate a new virtual card with a new number. I have been paying for all my purchases with e-card for years and have never had any issues. For me, opening an e-card payment account at my bank is free; I have never paid anything. I know that some banks charge a few euros per year, but it is never very expensive, hardly more than ten euros.
I hope this little advice will be useful to you, and now I wish you happy shopping online, as there are indeed some great deals to be had. And especially if you pay by e-card, know that you can sleep soundly.

Hello, I am very loyal to miniinthebox, this site is not a scam, you just need to follow a few conditions: 1. Do not exceed 25€ (to avoid customs fees) 2. Do not buy controllers (Wii, PS3, etc...) as they are considered counterfeits by customs because they look like real controllers except they don’t have Sony or Wii printed on them. 3. Check the insurance and shipping fee box (2€, it's better than 20€ in customs fees). If you do not receive your package while following my advice, it is not miniinthebox's fault but those who made you export this package because they are exported by boat, but that is rare. So, I ordered cases for iPhone and iPod and I always received them, they are of good quality, delivery takes about 2 weeks to 1 month, so don’t panic if those who haven’t received them for 3 weeks, they come from China, not France, so it’s normal ;) and I am always satisfied, so I recommend it :)

I don't think this is a scam site. I've placed quite a few orders on this site and I've received all my orders except one, which got lost. The payment was taken, so I contacted customer service; they offered to either refund the amount or give me a check for the same amount. I preferred the first option and they refunded me the entire amount of my lost order. So overall, I think it's a reliable site.
