cannot connect to the printer Solved

Hello,   Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 8.0 I have 2 Windows 7 PCs on a subnet, whether it's wifi or wired; simple network or residential. One is Professional (w7pro) and the other is Home (w7f); both are 64-bit. w7Pro manages a printer and when, on w7f, I want to add this printer, it fails:  "Windows cannot connect to the printer" error 0x00000002  It goes without saying that I had shared the printer on w7pro, with a share name without spaces.  Procedure for adding on w7f: add a printer > network or wifi> It finds the shared name of the printer managed by w7pro; I click next and get an error message!  In fact, I found the solution, at Microsoft of course; and I will outline the search methodology I used in the following response.

Workarounds suggested by MS support:

1. insert the administrator account on the machine that wants to connect to the network printer (machineName, account, password==> no change

2. try again or install an updated printer driver==> no change

3. on the server that locally manages the printer, change from:
allow Windows to manage the homegroup connections
to
use user accounts
homegroup> advanced sharing> homegroup connections: allow Windows to manage homegroup connections instead of using user accounts==> no change

4. with TechNet help > Printer Connections Status> "Event ID 2 -- Printer Connections Status"> points to check: one of the 3 checkpoints: restart Print Spooler ==>OK

note
My printer is not included in the hardware compatibility kit for w7 64 bits.

The LPD service can help, like back in NT4 days, when there are Unix machines on the network, but this is not the solution here.

so, I ended up getting an OK result after restarting the spooler service on the machine that wants to connect to the remote printer managed by a remote host.
