Outlook: error 554 - sending impossible

Hello,
It is impossible to send emails from Outlook Express on a Wi-Fi connection only.
Here is the error message:
An unknown error occurred. Account: 'Pierre', Server: 'smtp.free.fr', Protocol: SMTP, Server response: '554 <unknown[84.5.172.102]>: Client host rejected: Access denied', Port: 25, Secure (SSL): No, Server error: 554, Error number: 0x800CCC6F

I finally found the solution!
It seems that Wi-Fi connections, for example in a hotel, an airport, or a train station, are different from a home connection. This means that in the first case, there’s nothing to change, and in the second, you need to set the SMTP to the provider of the person you’re with, and it works. Don’t forget to revert to the original configuration afterwards.
In Outlook, account, mail: select the account, then properties, server tab, outgoing mail: that’s what needs to be changed. It is also possible that you need to modify the outgoing mail port number in the advanced tab (I personally didn't need to do that).
And that's it!

I'm not a super tech expert, but I've tried a lot of things and my problem persists: I can receive messages on Outlook Express, but I can't send them. I have an address with Free. My ISP is Darty (by the way, I asked for the SMTP, it's smtpauth.dbmail.com). I have correctly set Darty's SMTP in the server properties, but when I try to send the message, a window opens and tells me "Enter your username and password for this server." I re-enter my address with Free and my password, but the window keeps opening again and again..... Could you give me a lead, please? Thank you in advance.

-first: Tools/Accounts/select your account and go to "properties". In "general", first check the correct entry of your messaging password (type it again if necessary) then go to "servers", make sure you have entered: "pop.free.fr" for incoming and "smtp.free.fr" for outgoing (and all in lowercase please). Next, go to the "Connection" tab and it will tell you "if the connection to this account..." and you will find a box "always connect to this account using" if this box is greyed out, first check the box to enable the frame in which you will then drop down the menu and select your ISP .FREE. validate these operations, close everything.
Now disable the antivirus and Firewalls (if all these settings are OK, but the error persists it’s because you have Norton antivirus)
delete all the messages you have in the outbox, then send yourself a message to yourself.

and there you go, it works again, a bug, crazy stuff!!
who left my IT friends and my ISP without a solution
to think I reinstalled Outlook and changed my settings 10 times

I have the same problem with Outlook and a Free address, but also with Coutllo and an Alice address; everything is well configured, but with Free, I get the same error message as you, and with Alice, a Symantec message says that my message may not have been sent because the connection with my mail server was interrupted.

I was told that this could be due to Java??

Same problem and no solution, except to try again later.
(After 15 to 20 attempts to send, the email finally gets sent!) (Without any changes to the settings!!!)

I was receiving emails but couldn't send any with the account! Everything was set up correctly!!!

I found the SOLUTION.
The issue comes from the message itself. You need to remove some punctuation, or delete a copy-paste, or delete the message and rewrite it.

Everything then falls into place: NO NEED TO REPLACE @ with %, to switch software to Incredimail or anything else...

With my Orange email account, I set up the SMTP with Neuf, I have a Neuf/SFR box (I set smtp.neuf.fr) and it works.

I receive messages but cannot send any.

Indeed, since I'm doing the preparations at my place, I need to set smtp.numericable.fr in the properties.

I switched it back to smtp.free.fr so that it will be ready for her!!!
