My Little College Plus is crashing.

Hello,
In 2 days it's the exam, I have a good sixty points to make up with continuous assessment. For the past 2 months, my calculator has serious problems, it's a Texas Instrument College Plus, when I use it I run into several annoying issues:
-Memory erased in the middle of calculations + reboot.
-The calculator shuts down in the middle of calculations.
-The ON button hardly works anymore; I have to reset the memory to turn it on.
-When you turn it on, it erases everything.
-Sometimes it works well after a week of problems, and then it starts crashing again the following week..
Anyway, I first thought the battery was dead, but I quickly ruled that out. I asked some people, and now I have several possibilities:
Issue with the reset button => Unlikely, it would need to be removed.
Worn-out wires => Quite likely, needs re-soldering or replacing.
Receiver issue => Likely, being nearly 15 years old, my mechanical skills won't help. -.-
Here is the circuit:

Thanks in advance!

I don't know if it's a vague "it works" or if the reset button was triggering, but without the reset button, it seems to work better.

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem, and I have the exam in 6 days!
I really hope someone finds the answer.
Redfog, if you have a solution (since the article is quite old), please post it!
Thank you! -
I got 28/40, I was quite happy, unfortunately, it was mostly luck, because the fact that I opened my calculator must have changed something, and then it malfunctioned during the exam, and afterwards it gave up the ghost.

Bravo! I also had a stroke of luck: I passed the exam without any problems, then a month later I tried to turn it back on, but to no avail. I hadn't tried to open it, so I don't think the problem was there. Anyway, thanks for the response, I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one in the world with this problem! ;)
