There is a free equivalent of ALCESTE. It's called IRAMUTEQ, and you can download it from SourceForge. It is based on R :)

The software Irmauteq offers the same type of classifications as Alceste, it is free and open source... it might be easier than paying to have your data analyzed :/

Bonjour, I'm also looking for the evaluation version of Alceste software, or an equivalent. Have you found it since then? Thank you very much. I'm finishing my thesis in a few weeks... See you soon.

Hello, have you been able to acquire Alceste because I need it urgently and I couldn't find a free equivalent or a trial version
thank you -
Personally, I haven't found a free version; I even wonder if one exists. The solution is to negotiate directly with the university, and a charitable professor might allow access to the computers. The other solution is to contact the company IMAGE directly; either we send them the data, and for a few hundred euros they send the results, or we ask them directly for the price. As for me, I ultimately opted for a manual analysis, without software. Good luck!

Thank you, Toan. Unfortunately, the marketing research unit I belong to does not have this software or any other for qualitative analysis, since the majority of doctoral students perform quantitative analysis using SPSS and AMOS. For others like me, we work manually, and apparently, that's what I have to do!
See you soon. -
