Hello,

I am looking for software to create truck routes. Most of the ones I know do not offer this function. Does anyone have a name? I heard about one where it is possible to enter the vehicle's fuel consumption and get something comprehensive.

Hello, my boyfriend is an international truck driver, and I'm looking to buy him a GPS, but which one? It should calculate bridge heights, road restrictions for heavy trucks, etc. Thank you for your response.

  It's useless!! It's too expensive! Buy him a car GPS plus a Michelin atlas, he will be much more comfortable with this type of equipment.

    Christopher is right; as a truck driver myself, I bought a Garmin GPS, but I kept it for a week—it's not reliable at all. I went back to using my car GPS and a map; it's less stressful while driving.

  I bought the Garmin 465t heavy-duty in July 2010, the roads are unsuitable as well as the directions and routes. Moreover, it takes forever to calculate off the highway, it makes you take back roads or it bugs, it doesn't know about bridges and restrictions, for example, Pontchâteau 44 height 3.40, Nantes prohibited street 11t, Fougeres street in Vitré prohibited 3t5 N 24 departure Rennes 35 direction Vannes it makes you take small roads to then recover the N164 gps rating 0 out of 10, this brand has advised misleading advertising.

  I have been using a Bluemedia GPS model BM-6300 with NAVIGON software for about 8 years now.
  
  Just for your information, you can find it on 2xmoinscher.com and leboncoin.fr for around a hundred euros for the France Andorra and Monaco model, and for the complete Europe version, you should expect to pay about double...
  
  My uncle is an SPL driver, and I've already tried it with him. It covers all routes: pedestrian, bike, car (slow, normal, fast), and heavy goods vehicle... Honestly, it's brilliant... no other software like TomTom, or others does it the way this one does, or if they do, the guidance is poor...
  
  I even just installed the speed cameras for free by downloading the radar database from alertegps.com or .fr, I can't quite remember (to your desktop), and then on the garmin.fr site, you can find the Poiloader software, you just have to follow the instructions...
  Be careful, no copy/paste but a select/drag... there you go.

  Hello, there is the heavy goods vehicle route site WK from the Lamy editions, but be careful when you are given the kilometers as there is an error because the site does not take into account the streets and roads that are prohibited for heavy goods vehicles. Hello, to reply to certain people who talk or write without saying anything, I have a Snooper Syrius Proline special PL heavy-duty GPS and can certify, with evidence, that it is currently the best equipment for heavy goods vehicles. The only downside is that it has a high price, but given its usefulness, I do not regret the investment. I remain at your disposal for useful information. To each their own, see you later.

  It's not bad at all. I have a GPS like yours; I do exceptional convoys nationally, and that damn GPS let me down in front of a bridge at 4.20m while I was at 4.80m. So stop bragging about your product; it’s useless. Bye.

For Matt, the itinerary is as follows: viaduct of "maqueue" then continue on the pass of "mécouille" which goes between the 2 hills then straight on... you've arrived at "montcuq"!!!

gps garmin. height, weight per axle, length, width. Personally, I don't think it's great. Sure, it's okay for bridge heights, but it has recorded a lot of truck route restrictions that I don't know. For example: you come from Lyon and you're going to Marseille, and the GPS sends you through Nîmes via Arles to reach Marseille (benefit of a 107 km detour) all because it has saved a truck restriction on 10 km of the A7 motorway. Amazing, right? If you know a better one, let me know. Safe travels to you. Bye.

I own a TomTom GO 7000 truck for my camper van and I can certify that it’s a load of nonsense from an old trucker. I went back to my good paper map and prepared my routes before leaving, and now there are no more problems. No matter how many vehicle coordinates you enter, no useful information appears in the route. I found myself in front of a bridge at 3.10 meters in the countryside while my motorhome is 3.30 meters high with a total weight of 2.35 tons and 8.00 meters long with a two-axle trailer. As a result, I had to backtrack 800 meters with idiots tailgating me, despite the sergeant who came down to manage the traffic, and those idiots, who can’t back up 3 meters without getting stuck in the ditch. Quite the laugh in return! In short, all this to say it's all crap. I hope the army is equipped with something better, otherwise we’ll have the Chinese at the doorstep before we find the laces of our combat boots. HI!!!!!!

I still haven't found any software that allows for this type of itinerary; I think something special for heavy goods vehicles must be available somewhere that indicates bridges, sections prohibited for hazardous materials and heavy goods vehicles, but where????
If anyone has the answer or the name of any software, thank you in advance.
