The network password must be 40 bits.

Hello

So, the other day I reinstalled Windows on 2 PCs at the request of a friend who doesn’t know anything about computers, a laptop and a desktop.
The laptop just had a fresh install of Windows, and for the desktop, I formatted the C partition.

Everything was going well until I tried to install the Wi-Fi on the desktop; I was a bit apprehensive about this since I've never had a Wi-Fi connection.

Of course, I installed the driver for the Wi-Fi, and the Wi-Fi appears in the list of detected wireless networks. Then comes the moment to enter the Wi-Fi password
and that’s when the trouble starts... a message appears
"The network password must be 40 bits or 104 bits depending on your network configuration. It can be entered as 5 or 13 ASCII characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters."

So, if I understand correctly, only the letters A, B, C, D, E, and F can be used.
But the Wi-Fi password starts with "am", what should I do??

I made sure to ask my friend if that was the right one, and he told me that it's the one he used for the laptop! The Wi-Fi works correctly on the laptop.

So here I am really lost; I don’t know which direction to go in or where to start.

If you could help me, that would be nice,

thanks.

I really don't understand why his computer doesn't like this password at all
with his laptop there’s no issue with hexadecimal and his iPhone is the same, I tried changing the password to: ab203080
it doesn't like that either

please any leads, any ideas?! I really don’t know what to do anymore

How many characters does the password contain?

By character I mean letter or number or whatever you want.
