How to become a priority on a WiFi network?

Hello, I am currently in a residence for apprentices. I am therefore connecting via Ethernet to the residence's network (through a socket in the wall that is found in each of the 200 rooms). However, right now there are a lot of people (around a hundred) and consequently, since everyone is heavily using the connection, I am lagging. I sound like a robot on Skype and it's a disaster for gaming.
I would like to know if there is a way to make my computer a priority on the connection.

Thank you in advance :) (save a geekette in distress)

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 8.0

    Well, there is one.
You just need to open the Windows command (Windows key + "R") and then type "cmd".
Once you’re on the command line, type "netsh interface tcp show global" and the throttling that allowed for shared connections will be removed! You are now prioritized!!!!!!
I hope this helps you, Mr. Moo.

Is there a way to no longer be prioritized?

      Thank you.

To no longer be a priority, you need to type "netsh interface set global autotuning=restricted" in the command prompt.
