Hello
I can't install my JVC GR-DX28 camcorder on my PC running Windows XP. If anyone has a method, I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Strange, because on an online sales site, I found this:
JVC GR-DX28 MiniDV digital camcorder - 800,000 pixel CCD sensor, 12x optical zoom, 700x digital zoom, 6.35 cm color LCD screen - USB - iLINK
And in a brochure available on the JVC France site, they mention an IEEE 1394 output for the GR-DX28E model.
Are you really sure there isn't a little i.LINK connector located somewhere on the device?

Hi!
There is indeed a IEEE 1394 port on this model. It is located underneath the inscription "F1.2 Aspherical Lens".
The port is hidden by a small cap with the "I" logo of I.link engraved on it. You can open it after having opened the LCD screen (you need nails; otherwise, a knife or screwdriver will do the trick).
So I confirm Judex's response! He is also right about the quality of video recordings, they are by far of much better quality!!!
Have a good evening, and feel free to reach out if you need any more information about the camcorder.

Hello everyone,
BOB 71 here’s a very interesting link that will allow you to download STUDIO 10 in trial version and will enable your camcorder to be recognized via DV connection (Firewire, IE 1394) the same.
Thanks Gouril and the participants.
camera tv pc to load videos from a camcorder onto the pc
Nico: What do you mean by resolution problems??? when you enlarge your image.
Have you connected your cam via firewire as mentioned in previous posts or are you still using USB????
On the other hand, a video image is not a photo, and moreover, the resolution of your PC screen might make you think that your image is not beautiful when you are editing the video.
When you burn your DVD without compression and view your edit on the TV, the image is beautiful (aside from filming issues) or camcorder issues.

Hello Bob71,
I am looking for the USB drivers for the JVC GR-DX28E for a friend who doesn't have a firewire port on their PC. Your model is the GR-DX28, but the drivers you have might work...
JVC does not provide the drivers for download.
Could you kindly send them to me?
Either by email or through Rapidshare or another method of your choice.
Thank you in advance.

Hello
I have another problem with this camcorder
Out of nowhere, without experiencing any drops or manipulating the menu, the films have lost their vibrancy, with no contrast or rendering; in short, the output is horrible
If you have any suggestions (I tried cleaning the heads) but it does nothing
Have you ever encountered this kind of issue?
Thank you

Si non, pourrais-tu me le dire ?
Merci.

I suppose you're talking about a USB connection?
Try FireWire, it's much more efficient and of much better quality.

I connect the camcorder with a USB cable.
I checked in the device manager. I have the 4 necessary drivers, but the icon representing the camcorder does not appear on the desktop;
You are lucky to have a camcorder with an IEEE 1394 output.
If you don't have this type of input on your PC, it's really worth adding a Firewire card, and under XP, you don't even need to install a driver for your camera.
And the quality of the videos transmitted to your PC will be significantly better than through USB.
